First Day of Summer Class 2009

Yipee! For the second time, I am taking another set of subjects during summer! These subjects that I am talking about are Pharmacology, Physical Education and Asian Civilization. I was so excited coming to school that the night before, I set the alarm clock of my mobile phone to 6:00am thinking that my class will start at 8:30. I usually leave home for school 30 minutes before the first class begin. So you are right, I left the house at 8:00am. Our first subject is PE, so I head my way to our school gym to attend the class at exactly 8:25 with a smile on my face thinking that I am still not late. When I made a turn, I saw a group of familiar faces sitting in front of a teacher who seems like giving out instructions. As I approached the group, I realized that they were my classmates! I freaked out, thinking that the class started very early. I sat beside a classmate and asked when did the class started. She said these very exact line: "Look at your Registration Form, it says there that classes will begin at 8!"

I like this quote because like the quotes says, I am often misunderstood by people who thinks that I have a hard time understading things, when in fact I just really don't care. Anyways, back to Homer.

Homer J. Simpson is my favorite character of the show The Simpsons. He is the husband of Marge Simpson and father to Bart, Lisa and Maggie. The family live in Evergreen Terrace, Springfield. Homer works as a Safety Inspector at Monty Burns' Nuclear Power Plant.

There are no episodes of the series that Homer did not make me laugh. He can talk about almost anything, like politics for example yet sends me out laughing. But well, the series is airing for ages now and still, many people are fond of watching it.

Inside the delivery room you can witness either the creation or the destruction of life. It is because this is the place where babies are being introduced to the world either alive or dead and at the same time could also take away the mother's life in case of complications.

This is what I have witnessed as I was assisting a delivery of a pregnant patient. Her ultrasound shows that her baby has a lot of anomalies like the legs are too short, and the stomach is not visible. She is starting to experience labor symptoms in the preterm stage so the baby should be delivered once her cervix is completely dilated.

When the baby, which is a boy finally came out, it was really cyanotic and did not cry. He was still alive and the doctors are trying everything to resuscitate him. The baby did not survive. When the doctor confronted the mother of what have had happen, tears gushed out from the mother's eyes as I was taking her vital signs. I feel really sorry for the mother because I know that it is really devastating to lose a child.
